The College of Southern Nevada Fine Arts Gallery will present a solo exhibit of mixed media works by Emily McIlroy, faculty at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa, the Honolulu Museum of Art School and the Hawai`i State Art Museum. “Emily McIlroy: WILDS” will begin Friday, February 6 and will run through Friday, March 20, 2015. Ms. McIlroy will be available to the public and will present a Gallery Talk on Friday, February 6 at 1:30 p.m. in the CSN Fine Arts Gallery.

Emily McIlroy received her BA in Studio Art from the University of Arizona in 2005 and her MFA in Drawing and Painting from the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa in 2011. She has previously been the recipient of the John Young Scholarship in the Arts, the Geraldine P. Clark Memorial Fellowship in Painting, the H. John Heide Fellowship in Art, and the UH Department of Art and Art History Graduate Teaching Fellowship. She has had recent solo exhibitions at Hawai`i Pacific University in Kaneohe, HI and Berea College in Berea, KY. McIlroy has been selected to participate in the Honolulu Museum of Art’s upcoming biennial Artists of Hawai‘i, which will be on view July 2 to October 25, 2015. She currently lectures at the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa and in an instructor and art educator for the Honolulu Museum of Art School and the Hawai`i State Art Museum. McIlroy is the author of “One Half Living for Two: Cross-Cultural Paradigms of Twinship and Twin Loss,” published in OMEGA Journal of Death and Dying.

The CSN Fine Arts Gallery is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The Performing Arts Center/Fine Arts Gallery is located at the half circle drive near the campus main entrance, on the North Las Vegas Cheyenne campus at 3200 E. Cheyenne Avenue, one mile East of I-15 North.
